About

“A master of innovation, Mick De Giulio mixes 45 years of kitchen design experience, well-honed intuition, and visits to near-and-far locales with every kitchen he creates.”

Ann Wilson, Elegant Homes

“Fostering creativity and beauty amid structure, (Mick De Giulio) helped form the philosophy that homes – particularly kitchens – are not only where family is defined, but also the place where we determine the future of our larger community.”

Christopher G. Kennedy, Foreword to Kitchen Centric

“De Giulio’s sensitivity to the lives of his clients and the architectural style of their homes, his choice and mix of materials, and his ingenious solutions to problems inspire readers and editors alike.”

Eliot Nusbaum, Traditional Home

Mick De Giulio

Mick De Giulio is an American designer and author internationally acclaimed for his interiors and mindful innovations to home and product design. His firm, de Giulio design, has grown over four decades to include a studio and workshop in Chicago and an artisanal metalcrafts studio in Michigan. He is known for his conceptual rethinking of homes, which he designs around an expanded (kitchen) core, and for his artistry in building new levels of versatility into more dynamic, more serenely shared spaces. A devotee of craft with an unusual command of detail and materials, his residential projects spread across North America, Europe, and the Western Pacific, while his widely celebrated product designs range from his firm’s own bespoke furnishings and fittings to globally licensed collections for brands including SieMatic, Kallista (a Kohler Company), and Visual Comfort & Co.  His highly custom interiors have graced such leading publications as Architectural DigestInterior DesignElle Décor The Wall Street Journal Domus (Italia), Homes & Gardens (UK),  and Architektur & Wohnen, and he is the author of two books —  Kitchen Centric (2010, Balcony Press) and Kitchen (2015, Pointed Leaf Press).
